Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Our history will always be a part of who we are, both individually and as a whole community.  The changing of a Pastor brings about many different feelings.  There are feelings of trepidation, anxiety, sadness, and grief for many.  We have been so blessed to have such a loving, compassionate, and caring Pastor.  Rev. Tim Woodard excels at Pastoral Care ~ He has been there to help carry the burdens of others in their time of need.  A part of him will remain with us.  And a part of us will go with him.

During a loss of any kind, we feel grief.  Grief knows no age.  Grief occurs not only when we lose someone we love to death, but a loss of any kind.  Loss of hope ~ Loss of dreams ~ Loss of a job ~ And for many of us now ~ The loss of a Pastor we grew to love.  It is okay to feel what you feel.  “Grief is a normal, natural, and necessary process.  Grief is natural in that it’s a completely human thing to do.  We can’t avoid grief ~ it’s built into us.  We’re created to grieve, just as we’re created to love.  We love, and when we lose someone we love, we grieve. Grief is necessary.  Grief provides a healthy way to cope with the loss and everything it means to us.  Trying to ignore or avoid grief won’t work.  It will only make the grief last longer and possibly cause even more pain.” ~Kenneth C. Haugk “A Time to Grieve”

May you all give yourself permission to feel what you feel.  If tears need to fall, let them fall ~ And if sadness consumes too much of your energy, remember to give yourself permission to be happy too.  …. To give you a future with Hope.  Hold on to that hope.  “God wants our whole heart, but he wants our hearts to be whole” ~Max Lucado

Thank you, Pastor Tim, for sharing God’s word and love with us here at Union.  You will be ~ forever a part of us.

Peace be with you ~

A Message from Pastor Tim~

My Dear Friends,

It is difficult to find the words to describe all the feelings I am experiencing right now. I do want all of you to know how much I appreciate your kindness, compassion, love, prayers, and your help. My heart is breaking, but it helps to know how much you care. I miss you already.

“God bless us ~ every one”.

                     With Much Love,

                      Pastor Tim
